"I began seeking life coaching from Emily toward the end of 2020. Among the challenges that the pandemic brought, I was also facing grief through the death of a loved one and the ending of a marriage. Facing so much turmoil at once triggered quite a lot of emotion and old thought patterns associated with body image, projecting masculinity, not being enough, and that there’s something wrong with me.
I am a trans man. Much of my life I have been hypercritical and uncomfortable in my body. Through my external transition, I have also evolved to have more compassion and self love.
But 2020 set me back into a lot of old thought patterns. Emily was first and foremost compassionate and empathetic to how I was feeling. She wasn’t quick to change it. Being acknowledged and heard created the space for me to explore deeper into my feelings to address the root of things. What I really enjoy most about the coaching with Emily is the counter thoughts/ideas presented in the coaching. An offering to view from a different perspective. I was also given actionable things to do through the week to keep me more present and mindful.
I have seen a huge improvement in my confidence, self image, ability to set boundaries, and perspective while coaching with Emily. I am so grateful to have had her support as a coach through that tumultuous time and now!"
